Center Releases Policy Paper Analyzing the Impact of Sequestration on Native Youth

The Center developed a policy paper detailing the impact of federal sequestration on critical programs serving Native American youth. The paper is in part a result of conversations from our April Policy and Resource Roundtable attended by nearly 40 federal agencies, tribal organizations, and youth. The paper, titled “Sequestration: the Impact on the Most Vulnerable At-Risk Population – Native Youth” takes a holistic approach in analyzing the various ways young First Americans will be affected. Included are stories from youth and community members as a way to further illustrate how these across-the-board cuts are affecting individuals, especially Native youth, throughout Indian Country.
